Growler is gone

We changed her medication to try to see if a stronger steroid would help her. After observation and some bloodwork, as well as the x-ray, nothing came back with any results that we could use to help her. There was no obvious injury, but she was in excruciating pain--you didn't even have to touch her, if you put your hand within an inch of her body her skin would crawl.

There was nothing else we could do for her and her pain was so severe that we opted to euthanize her. She crossed the bridge with our help this evening at about 8pm. I hope Zest will meet her on the other side, at least they won't be lonely.

She was my special little lap cat and I miss her already. I feel sick and I have a headache. I'm not sure I am cut out for this.

RIP little Growler. Lunasmom, thank you for your tireless efforts to give these kitties the love and good care they need. The two kitties whose lives were too short because they didn't meet someone as kind and caring as you sooner especially needed what you gave them. You are in our thoughts. -- Pro from SmoFo

Lunasmom, you have given them over a year of love and fun, which is something they may never have had a chance at if someone else had rescued them. And love and compassion at the end, as well. I am really sorry about Growler, and just wish their were more miracles in the world, for your sake and theirs.

Hey - I volunteer and foster many kittens at my local shelter. It's a hard job and you are feeling it. Just remember that you have given them days - perhaps even just hours - of love that they would never have known. It takes a strong heart to be able to cry over the lost ones and still be willing to open your life to the new ones. Your heart looks very strong to me.
